(special thanks to the Big D 60s group for their contributions to this section)

studio club audience '66Dallas and Ft Worth. Two cities with a strong musical heritage dating back to early part of the 1900's when Blind Lemon Jefferson played on the street corners with T Bone Walker.

Starting in the 60's several young rock bands formed that turned the Metroplex on fire with great music. Bands like The Chessmen, The Orphans, The Excels and The Jackals perfomed at such rockin' venues as the The Studio Club, Mother Blues, the Walrus, the Dunes, Lou Annes, the End of Cole, Purple Haze, the Aragon Ballroom, and the Three Thieves.
